I assume that your daughter is now 9th grade student and repeat 9th grade in USA. In order to apply top private schools, your daughter should have excellent TOEFL score (usually around 100 out of 120) and SSAT about 90%. And you daughter needs these score before January 2013. Perhaps this might be a big challenge for your daughter. Since deadline is approaching, you should prepare for application as soon as possible
For checking the schools, you can go to the school website directly since school website is pretty clear about admission criteria. Or you can call to the school and ask questions directly. Each school has different admission criteria. Or you can work with someone or respected professionals to work on behalf of your daughter. Sometime that is easier and clear. Even you can ask these people to call right on that spot for you.
Also, certainly you can apply by yourself. Nevertheless, it would take a lot time and energy. From my experience, typically more than 80% applicants use professional assistance, about 20 % of applicants would apply directly. If you have a good, effective ethical professional, the success rate would be higher.
